Hello, and welcome to ASID UCLA Extension Student Chapter website!

Thank you for visiting, and checking us out.

I am quite honored to lead our group of talented continuing education professionals. Everyone is here to develop their design skills, and network with like-minded creatives. At ASID, we want to nurture those goals and make it easier for you to find your path.

Maybe you are still wondering, what is ASID all about? The foundation of ASID is the motto: design impacts lives. The mission statement for our organization states:

"Through education, knowledge sharing, advocacy, community building and outreach, we strive to advance the interior design profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively change people’s lives."

It is our job, along with our parent chapter, ASID LA, to carry out these objectives on a local level.

The student-run board we have assembled, with guidance from our faculty advisor, Shepard Vineburg, is inspiring! Everyone contributes dynamic strengths from varying backgrounds. We sat down together and came up with three goals to better service our chapter in the coming 2017/18 academic year:

1)     To increase our chapter membership by 25%, and to clearly relay the benefits of becoming an ASID student member to the UCLA Extension Arc-ID community.

2)    To offer our student chapter members meaningful events, networking and volunteer opportunities.

3)     To strengthen our stance as a leading resource of information to all students enrolled in the UCLA Extension Arc-ID program.

We want to be a multidisciplinary resource to further your career. Expect inspiring events, great networking opportunities (both with fellow students and industry professionals), and interesting ways to give back to our community.
