Scholarships
UCLA EXTENSION STAFF-SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

The UCLA Extension Staff-Sponsored Scholarships were established to support our mission: to provide knowledge and connections to help people achieve their personal and professional goals. Contributions were received from staff members at UCLA Extension to make these awards possible.

Minimum scholarship awards of $500 will be granted from a total pool of $2,400. Scholarship awards may be used to offset any UCLA Extension course fees.

Howard Hirsch Design Scholarship (Charrette Competition)

Objective:

To provide $3,000 in tuition credit to one student each year to complete the final 3 quarters (9 classes) of the UCLA Extension Professional Level Program in Interior Design. This scholarship is for students who have demonstrated consistent academic achievement.

Eligibility Requirements:

- Must be a candidate in the Arc_ID program with a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Must have completed all classes through the 7th quarter, including Interior Design Studio III.
- Students must participate in a one-day hospitality design charrette to be held during Fall quarter.
- A single prize of $3,000 in tuition credit will be awarded for the best project.
- The jury will include members of the Hirsch Bedner & Associates staff as well as other invited
  guest  jurors.
- The charrette will be open to a limited number of students on a first-come, first-served basis.

The James R. Northcutt Scholarship For Beginning  ARC_ID Students

Objective for Beginning Students:
To provide $1,000 in tuition credit to one student each quarter who completes the Fundamentals of Interior Design course. The award is based upon the caliber of work demonstrated in the final class project.

Selection Process for Beginning Students:
A faculty panel judges the final class project, evaluating the successful interpretation of the design challenge.

The James R. Northcutt Scholarship For Advanced ARC_ID Students

Objective for Advanced Students:
A $3,000 award in tuition credit is awarded twice a year to students who have completed Interior Design Studio II. The award is based upon the work demonstrated in projects from Interior Design Studio II.

Laurel Hummel Scholarships For International Students

This scholarship acknowledges all International Students who have demonstrated academic and interpersonal achievement. Two recipients are selected on a quarterly basis and will receive a $1,250 scholarship award towards their course fees. For details click here
