Design a Coat or Outfit and Win a Trip to Neocon in Chicago!
Help design a coat or outfit for Mike Elliott, the President and CEO of the Jasper Group! The winning entry will be worn by the President at NeoCon 2012 and five finalists and a guest will receive a trip to Neocon.
You can see examples of Mike Elliott's outfits and jackets here:
-Eligible to a licensed interior designer in LA and OC to represent our Costa Mesa showroom.
-One finalist and guest from EACH of the five eligible cities (NYC, Nashville, Costa Mesa, will receive airfare, two night stay at Hotel Sax and dinner at the award winning Naha in downtown Chicago during NeoCon.
-Finalists and overall winner will be recognized Monday of NeoCon in Jasper Group space 3-111
-Submissions are due by 3-16-2012 to NeoCon12@jaspergroup.us.com and should include name, firm, address, and phone with email. Please include Jamie Sameshima on your entry as your reference and feel free to contact her at jamies@connectsocal.com or at 310-424-8017 with any questions.
-Judging will be done by Viveca Bissonette, FIIDA, CID, LEED AP, and based on 40% aesthetic, 30% creativity, and 30% concept.
Presentations are to include:
1-A sketch or rendered design
2-Material images and color swatches (fabrics*, thread, etc)

Joel Polsky Prize
Academic Achievement Award
The Joel Polsky Academic Achievement Award is given annually by the ASID Educational Foundation to recognize an outstanding undergraduate or graduate student’s interior design research or thesis project. Research papers or doctoral and master’s theses should address such interior design topics as educational research, behavioral science, business practice, design process, theory or other technical subjects. Entries will be judged on actual content, breadth of material, comprehensive coverage of topic, innovative subject matter, bibliography and references.
The winner receives $5,000.

The Christopher Guy BritWeek Design Award Competition
Christopher Guy, an international luxury furnishings brand, has furnished illustrious projects around the world including the film sets of 007, The Devil Wear Prada, Casino Royale and the interiors of luxury hotels such as The London Savoy and the St. Clemente Palace in Venice, among many others.
Christopher Guy is calling out to aspiring interior and furniture designers to claim their chance to enter the high-end furnishing industry.
The second annual Christopher Guy BritWeek Design Award requires students to design a piece of furniture or decorative accessory following key Christopher Guy design elements, but based on the remarkable creations of Philip Treacy, the celebrated haute couture hat designer, who also has designed hats for Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, Valentino, Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan.
PRIZES
Winner
The winner will be offered a one month internship at the Christopher Guy headquarters in Singapore, including accommodation and airfare. The winner will also fly to London to visit the Christopher Guy UK operations. Lastly, the winner will receive a four day trip to visit the Christopher Guy exhibit during the Maison et Objet exhibition in Paris.
Runner-Up
The runner-up will fly to London to visit the Christopher Guy UK operations. The runner-up will also receive a four day trip to visit the Christopher Guy exhibit during the Maison et Objet exhibition in Paris. Accommodation and airfare will be provided.

Please let all of our students know about this competition! We had 2 winners last year that tied for 2nd place, - Melissa Klink and Kristina Kral. They are Student ASID members. They were awarded and they went, on an all expenses paid trip to Paris and to the Objets Decorative in Paris. This year, -- it's London and Paris for 2nd place. What a 2nd place prize!!
1st place is a 1 month internship, all expenses paid, in Singapore, with Christopher Guy at his headquarters! Last year's winner is now a full time employee with Christopher Guy.
